Long ago, I lived in upstate NY with my family. I grew up, graduated from highschool, and then moved on to a small private college less than 20 minutes from home. I graduated from college in 2007, and continued living and working in retail. I was happy, but I needed a change. I needed to flourish, and I jumped at the chance to start a new life!
Fast forward to 2009. My sister and I made the move to Charlotte to start a new chapter in our lives. She would start teaching, and I would… find out what it was I wanted to do. Living in Charlotte, NC has been an amazing adventure for me. I’ve faced challenges, and grown and experienced more than I expected! I’ve discovered new passions (such as blogging and volunteering), and I’m currently working on a new career path: accounting. Charlotte has definitely become my new home, and I love everything about it. Here are a few of my favorite spots around town. This list will continue to grow as I discover more!
Hazelnuts Creperie – Lovely French crepes, traditional and custom made!
Amelies– There are two locations for this adorable, shabby chic cafe, and one annex that you can rent for a private reception. I love the NoDa location because it’s open 24/7! Perfect place to grab a pastry after date night!
Favorite Thrift Spots
Uptown Cheapskate – My fave. Period. You trade in your gently used clothes, and if they don’t use them, they’ll kindly donate your items to Lori’s Loft. UC has a mixture of both new and used clothes. Check them out in the university area!
Plato’s Closet – My second favorite consignment spot. Up until recently, I shopped almost exclusively at Plato’s. What can I say? I love a good deal! Most of what you see me wearing on this blog usually came from Plato’s… including this little number:
As always, Love Tipper
